Elijah, the Founder
It is historically and archaeologically proved that from the time of the prophets Elijah and Elisha, holy hermits of the Old and New Testaments, lived in that mountain favourable to contemplation of heavenly things, close to the spring of Elijah for centuries.

St. Teresa of Jesus

St. John of the Cross
The reformation was first done for the female nuns in 1562 and this was extended to the male religious in 1568 with the collaboration of St. John of the Cross.
